First US Women’s team to Compete in Dresden 2014

This July a US Women’s National team will compete in an international competition for the first time.  A dedicated group of US Women will put their fistball skills to the ultimate test when they take the field this summer in Dresden, Germany against the best fistball players the world has to offer.  The US team has yet to face strikers the likes of Magdalena Lindorfer of Austria, but don’t count on the US Women’s team being an easy win quite yet as they’re a powerful and well-balanced team led by a coach with world championship experience.   The team will be coached by Gastão Englert who has led Brazil’s national teams to multiple world championships.  Add in men’s national team striker Mat Ogin as well as Phoenix Fistball Club patriarch Steven Groeber and you have a diverse coaching staff with a lot of fistball experience.  The final details regarding the US Women’s team roster will be released by the team’s coaching staff as the event drawers nearer.   One thing’s for certain, win or lose, the memories of a lifetime will be made at the fistball women’s world championship in Dresden this summer.  Visit the official Women’s World Championship 2014 website or the Faustball WM 2014 facebook page for dates, tickets, and all the pertinent details.  For a taste of what a fistball world championship is like, check out this video showcasing the U18 world championships in 2010.  The US Women’s National team is currently self-funded and would be open to sponsorship opportunities and welcome donations to help cover their expenses.
